Spiritual mapping
Spiritual mapping is the systematic gathering and evaluation of data through surveys, research, and spiritual perceptions in order to discover the factors, influences and trends that deter or advance God's Kingdom at a particular campus. (Joshua 18; Numbers 13; Nehemiah 2)
This data can be used to guide our prayers and and to move us toward practical action. Information helps link our prayers with action.
Discovering tangible and intangible information about what God is doing and what Satan is doing on a campus is crucial to guide our prayers and actions. It also encourages us to see evidence of specific prayers answered.
Together we can answer campus-wide questions like, “How many practicing Christians are on our campus?”, “What types, races, or groups of people are we reaching?, “What specific barriers are Christians experiencing?”, or “How many people became Christians through our churches and mnistries in a specific school year?” These questions can be answered through simple surveys, prayer walks, direct insight from God as He speaks to us, and many other means.
We have pioneered spiritual mapping on college campuses in America over the past 14 years. Most of our spiritual mapping efforts have been comprehensive involving every ministry and church working on a particular campus.
